Beathe Linde studied acting at the Nordic Institute for Stage and Sound (NISS) and worked in independant theatre groups in Oslo, Norway alongside directing youth theatre. She has been living in Prague for three years and has been working with Blood, Love and Rhetoric for over a year where she has performed many memorable and often spectacular characters. Her acting credits include Gertrude (The Queen) in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, as Meg in Harold Pinter's the Birthday Party, and as Clytemnestra in Agamemnon. She will be appearing next as Dr. Dakinova in the upcoming production of Lovecraft: Devil's Reef.
Laura Baranik holds a BFA in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, the Experimental Theatre Wing, and the International Theatre Workshop in Amsterdam, and starred in Mainstage productions of Three Sisters (Irina) and Spring Awakening (Wendla). She has recently been seen on Prague's stages in Blood, Love and Rhetoric's Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead and The Birthday Party, and as Benvolio in The Prague Shakespeare Festival's outdoor production of Romeo and Juliet.
Curt Matthew grew up on a small farm in South Dakota, USA. After a stint in the U.S. Air Force he became a professional student for many years eventually completing graduate degrees in both English Literature and Theatre. Since moving to Prague in 1998 he has appeared in various local stage productions and commercials. Recent film work includes Narnia: Prince Caspian, Babylon A.D., The Omen, and Everything Is Illuminated.
Yegor Lanovenko is a graduate of the English College, where he studied Theatre for his IB Diploma. He's been working with BLR since the beginning, being closely involved in the production's of last season. He acted in Chekhov as Lomov, the script for which he translated from Russian. His first play Forgetting [pause] Pinter was a success at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival which was followed by Agamemnon which he adapted and directed. Yegor has also done lighting design for several BLR productions.
John Poston is a native of the US and has been acting in Prague since 2003. He has been in over twenty short films and videos and appeared in the features Heavyweights (Germany) and Wanted. He was last onstage as Hamlet in Blood, Love and Rhetoric's production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead.
R. Scott Williams is proud to make his debut with Blood, Love and Rhetoric. In the past year, Scott has portrayed a stand-up comedian, a strung-out homeless beggar, a bible-thumping redneck and a thieving desert rat. He also performed these characters on stage. Scott would like to thank Jack Nicholson, whom he once met in Los Angeles, for inspiring him to get out of cab driving and pursue new horizons. Thanks Jack. Scott currently drives a cab in Prague.
Mark Waldron was born and bred in the same Pennine valley as Ted Hughes and has been in Prague for one year. He last trod the boards over fifteen years ago in Tom Stoppard's Dirty Linen but since then he has directed a number of plays and musicals in the UK including Les Miserables, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Guys and Dolls, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Black Comedy, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui and Blood Brothers.
Bethany Adams is ecstatic to be one of Lovecraft's chosen. Ms. Adams fondest roles included Medea in Euripides' Medea, Pompey in Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, Joanna in Noel Coward's Present Laughter, Inez in Sartre's No Exit and Tireseas in Sophocles' Antigone. Her Prague credits include Lady Montague in Prague Shakespeare Festival's Romeo and Juliet, Cotton in CP Antic's interactive street theatre production, Killing Rick, and most recently, a chorus girl in Blood, Love and Rhetoric's Agamemnon. In addition to traditional stage roles, she has performed with The Bear Educational Theatre in Prague, and taught English through drama at Czech public schools, as well as with the act-and-speak company Jeviste.
Logan Hillier is Head of Performing Arts at the English College in Prague, a prestigious IB school for 13-19 where he has produced and directed student theatre for several years, including The Tempest and The Crucible. Since beginning acting in Prague with the local community, he has played numerous roles in David Mamet's Edmond, Horatio in Hamlet, won the Praguepost Playwriting Contest audience award, and produced directed and starred in Blood, Love and Rhetoric's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead as the Player and performed in Chekhov as Ivan Ivanovich Nyukhin, and The Birthday Party as McCann.
Ashe Kazanjian holds a BFA in Drama from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting and the Dublin program with The Gate Theater. Her university production roles included those of Pope Joan in Top Girls and May in Fool for Love. Since graduation Ashe has shifted her focus to photography, but she has recently been rekindling her love of theater through her participation in BLR. She was last seen as part of the chorus of liberated French lesbians in BLR's interpretation of Agamemnon.
Maithili Tideman is actor, writer (on occasion) and a novice philosopher. She recently graduated from the Prague Film School Acting Department and is excited to perform with Blood, Love and Rhetoric. She has appeared in a number of short independent films and commercials.
Petr Zelenka is an IB Theatre student at the English College in Prague where he has been studying drama for the last four years. Petr has recently come back from the Edinburgh Festival where his performance helped achieve a four star review from Broadway Baby. His acting credits include Mr Gross in the Memorandum by Vaclav Havel, Devlin in Ashes to Ashes by Harold Pinter and one of the players in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. His next performance will be as the Father in Six Characters in Search of an Author.
Aneta Kolblova is an IB Theatre student at the English College in Prague where she has been studying drama for the last four years. She has been acting with Blood, Love and Rhetoric for the last year and has appeared frequently in BLR shows. She was one of the player chorus in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Natalya in Chekhov'’s “The Proposal” and as the reptilian Miss Ballas in the Memorandum. She will next be appearing as the Step-daughter in Six Characters in Search of an Author.
Stan Benes is an IB student at the English College in Prague where he is currently in his final year. Since arriving at the College he has appeared in numerous productions, as one of the players in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, as Mr P in the Memorandum, and as Devlin in the College's’ production of Ashes to Ashes which appeared in the Edinburgh Festival this year.
Megan Kanne is a native of the United States and arrived in Prague last fall. She made her performance debut at age 8 in The Wizard of Oz. Having found her passion, she sought out every project she could find on stage or screen and eventually toured 47 states and eight countries as a performer and, occasionally, director. A lover of musical theatre, she has appeared in Oliver!, Bye Bye Birdie, Peter Pan, The Music Man and Once Upon a Mattress.
Zuzana Vesela is an IB student at the English College in Prague where she has been participating in drama productions for the last five years. She has appeared in numerous productions in various roles including one of the players in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead and one of the Marias in the Memorandum. She also appeared in Lovecraft: Devils Reef as Nurse Ellery.
Anna Vitkova is an IB student at the English College in Prague where she has been participating in theatrical productions for the last three years. She has appeared in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead as one of the players and in Memorandum as one of the Marias. She is currently appearing in the critically acclaimed A Couple of Polish Speaking Romanians at the renowned Divadlo Na Zabradli.
Odessa Primus is an IB Theatre student at the English College in Prague where she has been involved in the performing arts for the last few years. Her roles include one of the Marias in Memorandum and one of the Gods in The Birds. She has also completed the BLR internship program where she assisted with events management.
Jan Kolar is an IB student from the English College in Prague where he has been participating in drama productions there for the last four years. He has appeared in numerous shows and his acting credits include Alfred in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Giles Corey in The Crucible, Mr Stroll in the Memorandum and Aegisthus in Agamemnon.
Anna Lit is a graduate of the English College in Prague where she studied IB Theatre. She is a skilled dancer and choreographer. Her acting credits include Elizabeth Proctor in the Crucible by Arthur Miller, as Ruth in the Homecoming by Harold Pinter, as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Nurse Adams in Lovecraft: Devils Reef.
David Smejkal is an IB student at the English College in Prague where he has appeared in numerous productions. David’s performances include one of the players in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, as Dr. Savant in the Memorandum and as one of the heralds in Agamemnon.
